Simple ways to

keep your coast beautiful

Chip box

Bin your litter

Please help keep Yorkshire's beaches tidy by binning your litter or taking your rubbish home with you. We want the coast to be a place for everyone to enjoy so please do your bit and use the facilities provided. If you use the public toilets on the coast, please use the bins provided and avoid flushing nappies, sanitary products and wipes.

Seagull

Don't feed seabirds

Feeding seagulls encourages them into public places where they can cause a nuisance. Seagull poo can get into the sea and affect the bathing water quality. Please put all food waste into the bins provided and avoid feeding seabirds to help keep your coast beautiful.

Plastic bottle

Recycle your plastics

Please help to protect your coastline by recycling your plastics. Up to 12 million tonnes of plastic waste is dumped into the world's oceans every year. By the year 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans. You can help by avoiding single use plastics as much as possible and recycling them when you have used them.
