We're investing in our water network in Rotherham

Washing apples

We’ve started work to replace around 1.7km of clean water pipes in Rotherham, investing £1.6m this work will help reduce the risk of bursts and improve resilience in the area.

We’ve liaised with Rotherham Council in the planning of this work, and we’ll be completing the work in phases. The whole project should take until around September 2024 to complete.

Our contract partners OCU Utilities and Hargreaves will be carrying out this work on our behalf, normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am until 5pm, we may work some weekends and overnight to minimise disruption and keep to programme.

We understand roadworks are disruptive and would like to thank you in advance for your patience while we complete this work.  We’ll keep you updated as our work progresses.

Our current and next stages……

Work is continuing Rawmarsh Road with a one-way closure in place and we expect this to take until the end of May 2024.

W/C 13th May The new pipe will be laid across the junction of Forge Way and Rotherham Road. We’ll complete this work overnight using temporary traffic lights and it should take around 1 week to complete.

W/C 20th May We’ll start working down Rotherham Road from Forge Way to McDonalds at Stonerow Way.  The central lane of the road will be closed with 2-way traffic maintained; this will take around 2 weeks to complete.

W/C 3rd June- The junction of Rotherham Road and Stonerow Way will be closed for around 2 weeks while we complete this section of work. All businesses will be open as usual, and a signed diversion will be in place via Stadium Way, shown below in green.

W/C 17th June We’ll be back onto Rotherham Road for a further 4 weeks to finish the section from McDonalds down to the roundabout at Parkgate. There will be a lane closure in place again maintaining 2-way traffic.

All businesses remain open as usual, please continue to support them during our work.
