Water Cycle Challenge
Simple things, water and bicycles. One a basic human right, the other a luxury. Together they can do great things and that's what we are all about.
In Yorkshire, we're blessed with some fine cycling country right here on our doorstep. We invite you to work with us to help WaterAid achieve their goal that everyone, everywhere has access to clean water and sanitation by 2030. These basic human rights underpin health, education and livelihoods, forming the first essential step in overcoming poverty. Together, great things can be done.
With teams working in 37 countries across Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific region and Europe, WaterAid works with local partners to reach the poorest people and calls on governments to provide these solutions for everyone everywhere.

Given the Covid-19 situation, our only option was to postpone the 2021 event for a year. However, we now have a date for the Water Cycle Challenge to return... 2 July 2022!

The Water Cycle Challenge will return in 2022!
Because of covid, our event is having a two-year break. However, that's an extra two years of (solo) training and with three challenging routes through the Yorkshire Dales including the epic Rogue at 111 miles, you'll need it!
The event is organised by the WaterAid committee with ALL profits going to WaterAid!
Entry includes:
- fully-signed challenging route
- our famously fabulous enroute marshalls
- professional timing
- official photography
- well stocked feedstations
- post ride meal
- fantastic scenery.
The routes
40 miles
Reservoir Rush
Feel the Rush. A 40-mile bite-sized slice of the action with all the drama squeezed into a perfectly sized portion.
Open to riders 12+
80 miles
Reservoir Romp
Who doesn't love a good Romp? A just right 80-miler up and down dales, a few big ups, some cracking downs. You'll be romping along.
Open to riders 16+
111 miles
Reservoir Rogue
For the rogue elements. Our headline route is 111 miles with a heck of a lot of climbing, oh so much climbing... Go on, go Rogue!
