Monitoring consumption through data logging activity can assist in reducing waste by promoting more efficient use of water. Smart technology now allows businesses to monitor and get data on water usage at regular intervals. This can help identify abnormal or unusual usage such as a leak or identify areas where savings can be made.

If you wish to connect any monitoring equipment to a Yorkshire Water meter, an application must be made for a data logging cable to be fitted. You can apply for this via our Data Logging Connection Request form. A data logging cable may also be known as a pulsed output, pulsed connection, splitter or repeater; Once your data logging cable has been fitted you can connect this to a data logger, building management system, secondary dosing system or an out-reader.

Where Yorkshire Water has its own data logger connected to a meter we’re able to provide you with data, subject to your application being approved. If you wish to request access to Yorkshire Water’s data logger data, you can apply via the Data Logging Connection Request form.

To find out more about the application process please refer to our Data Logging Policy.
