Our leakage commitment

Swan

We're reducing Phosphorus levels entering the river Aire so local wildlife can thrive.

Knostrop is our biggest treatment works, serving one million Leeds people. We're investing in upgrades there to reduce phosphorus in the water entering the river Aire, without using chemicals - making it safer for us all to enjoy.

We’ve got more in store for customers, supplying 10 million extra litres of water, that’s over 150 thousand fish tanks!

We’re building a new £8.5m service reservoir between York and Malton that will increase the resilience of the drinking water network in the area and improve supplies locally.

Every day's a school day! We're helping local schools to prevent flooding with sustainable drainage.

We’re partnering with SuDSPlanter to give away free water saving devices to schools to help reduce the volume of rainwater entering the sewer network.

Ilkley Sewer

We’ve been working hard underground, so you can enjoy the river overground.

In Ilkley, we’ve just finished building a huge new sewer, helping us deal with more wastewater. So we use storm overflows less often, helping to make the river Wharfe cleaner and safer.

Heron

We've made wetlands to filter and store storm water, reducing storm overflow use and providing a home for wildlife.

Find out what stormover flows are, why we have them and how they work.
