For developments where no new road is being built, we’ll provide a connection from our existing network that perfectly suits your needs and supplies safe, great-tasting drinking water all year round. You can find the applications forms in the 'Get connected' section, below.
Once you've applied and made the applicable payment, we’ll do a survey to check how we can best deliver your water and get back to you with a quote for the connection work within 28 days. Our delivery team handles the connection, which normally takes no more than 21 days (but do bear in mind, if the work is on a busy road, it may take up to three months as we’ll need to notify the local council).

6 simple steps to a new connection
Here’s what you need to do – and what we’ll do – at each stage of your journey.
1
You apply and pay your application fee
Fill out a water connections application form and pay the application fee. We’ll get back to you within 5 days to let you know we’ve got everything or if we’re missing any details.
2
We send you a quote
We’ll do a site survey and send you a quote and a connection plan within 28 days of receiving your completed application.
3
You pay your quote
If you’re happy to move ahead, you’ll need to pay your quote and book in the connection (see step 5) within 6 months of receiving the quote.
4
You lay your pipework
Arrange to lay your private supply pipe up to the property boundary ready for us to connect to. We recommend using a qualified contractor to make sure this is done right.
5
You book in your connection
Complete and return the connection checklist we sent you with your quote to confirm you’re ready for the connection. If it’s for a new property, you’ll also need to send us a letter from the local council confirming the address.
6
We make the connection and install your meter
We’ll come to carry out the connection and install your water meter within 21 days of receiving your completed checklist.
How do I get my private water pipe installed?
Before we can get you connected to our water network, you’ll need to arrange the installation of the private water supply pipe within your property boundary. While you can install private pipework yourself, we recommend using a WaterSafe-approved plumber to make sure it’s done right.
